Last week, the RGS Worcester Senior Debaters once again enjoyed huge success, winning through to Finals Day at Cambridge University as well as the Regional Final of the English Speaking Union Mace competition.
This Tuesday saw fifteen RGS musicians from Year Seven, perform and delight audiences with a superb online concert. Viewers tuned in via Google Meet at 7pm to watch talented soloists (each performing remotely) entertain with a wide repertoire of musical treats.
During last summer 2020, Lower Sixth student Ethan Farmer, made the decision to pursue an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification), focussing on his love of ‘80s and ‘90s music, boy band culture and musical theatre.
The Billingham Society forms part of the Academic Enrichment offered to pupils at RGS. Named after the School’s distinguished alumnus Dr John Billingham, the Billingham Society is open to pupils in Years Seven to Eleven.
Girls at RGS Worcester are once more participating in the national ‘CyberFirst Girls Competition’, which aims to inspire and support girls interested in cyber security.
Director of Rugby, Mr Robert Lewis and Head of Strength and Conditioning, Mr Ellis Brindley, welcomed Sports Psychologist, Lyle Kirkham of ‘Spark Performance’ on a ‘virtual visit’ to RGS Worcester this week.
It has been another busy week of learning with great enthusiasm at RGS Worcester. We have seen snow and Sports challenges, Debating and Drama performances, Cooking and online Concerts and everything in-between.
On Saturday RGS Worcester warmly welcomed prospective pupils and their families to visit the School virtually, during our Virtual Open Morning event.
It was great to see pupils able to return to the astroturf at RGS Worcester during last term for their Games lessons. Although we were not able to play many competitive matches against other schools, pupils did participate in the ‘Virtual Hockey Fixture’
We were delighted to hear that two RGS pupils have been using their drama skills to bring characters to life by providing voice-overs for the new CBeebies animation, ‘B.O.T. and The Beasties’.
