An RGS Pupil is embarking on an incredible challenge this summer – to climb 39 mountains in just five weeks. Year Nine pupil Fionn and his father Deane are aiming to fulfil this ambition, just 16 months on from Fionn’s diagnosis with a very rare and aggressive Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in March 2020.
On Monday 26 April 2021, pupils in Years Seven and Eight had the opportunity to participate in the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge. This event is a sixty-minute, multiple choice competition aimed at the top Mathematics students across the UK.
Despite a loss to Bromsgrove School’s experienced side, which included two international players, the RGS Girls’ Tennis team played some fantastic tennis in close fought matches which did not finish until 7.30pm last Wednesday evening.
The 22 April was Earth Day and the Environment Committee decided to mark this occasion by encouraging staff and pupils to wear an item of green clothing. It was wonderful to see an array of green socks, shirts, ties, hair scrunchies and cardigans worn by so many students, who clearly feel passionate about their planet.

RGS pupils have enjoyed a return to sports this term and it has been fantastic to see pupils back on the sports field, participating with enthusiasm. As pupils had a significant time away from sport, RGS ran pre-season training sessions for summer sports over the final weeks of the Lent term and during the Easter holiday, to ease pupils back into playing sport.
