CCF Colour Sergeant Charlotte Smith, Upper Sixth, has been offered a place at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst after passing the selection process. The offer remains open for 6 years and provides Charli with the opportunity to take up the Commissioning Course when she wishes to do so.
Last Tuesday saw the resumption of face-to-face instruction for the Combined Cadet Force. The energy and enthusiasm of the returning cadets demonstrated their grit, adaptability, initiative and tenacity and dispelling to me the perpetuating myth that children today have little or no resilience.
#Light It In Red is a nationwide campaign to draw attention to the plight of the entire theatre, music and live events industry during the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2020, theatres and other entertainment venues were lit up in red on three evenings between the beginning of July and the end of September.
We were delighted to hear that former RGS pupil, Myren Madden has been selected by England Weight Lifting for their Weight Lifting Training Squad, in preparation for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. At the age of only 19, this is a huge achievement.
The School held a very successful Mufti Day on Friday 19 March to fundraise for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day. Pupils could choose to come to school in home clothes or RGS Sports kit and were asked to wear a touch of red.
