This season we have seventeen pupils from across the RGSW Family of Schools registered for the National Schools Equestrian Association and, even throughout lockdown, the pupils had the opportunity to compete in virtual dressage competitions, where they recorded their tests in an arena at home and sent videos off to be judged.
Members of the RGS Gardening Club would have normally been designing and building a garden for the RHS Malvern Show this term. But, with the event sadly not going ahead this year, our young horticulturists have been challenged to channel their gardening skills but on a much smaller scale…
In anticipation of the upcoming event ‘Worcester’s Big Parade’ – an art trail of beautifully decorated elephant sculptures on display throughout Worcester City in July, RGS Worcester delivered our superbly decorated Baby Elephant to the team at St Richard’s Hospice.
As part of the Mental Health Awareness Week and its theme of ‘Nature’, Year Nine pupils have joined together in support of this important cause and an inter-form competition has sprung to life to see who can grow the best Dwarf Sunflower.
This week the Year Ten Textiles group spent their afternoon lesson at The Hive. With ‘Modern Architecture’ as the topic for their most recent GCSE project, the pupils enjoyed the opportunity to gather some primary research by taking a range of photographs of our local landmark building.
Rugby players were pleased to take the field this week, after a 14-month absence. We were also delighted to see the first ever RGS Worcester Girls Under 18 Rugby team enjoy a competitive fixture against Hereford Sixth Form College.
Former RGS pupil, Lauren Broome (2009-2016), graduated from the University of East London in 2020 with a First Class BA (hons) Degree in Fashion Design.
This Thursday saw RGS Worcester tackle the important issue of food waste in a partnership initiative between our Catering department and the Environment Committee.
Girls Cricket at RGS has really taken off over the past week with the girls playing four matches against RGS Dodderhill.
