As part of National Careers Week 2021, RGS Worcester’s Careers programme offered a plethora of activities and information to pupils to inspire and start them thinking about their futures and potential careers.

With the ‘lockdown’ continuing over Half term, the final House event of February was House Drama. Pupils, staff and their families were invited to write and perform either a monologue or duologue entitled ‘The Crazy World of Covid.’
The Literary Society’s #Book6 Book Club (reading a new book every six weeks) began in January with Diane Cook’s ‘The New Wilderness’.
Our third online concert of this term took place on Thursday 25 February, this time showcasing the talent and musical variety of our Year Nine Pupils.
We are delighted to announce that our Head of Girls’ Cricket, Thea Brookes, has been selected for The Hundred squad for the Birmingham Phoenix Women’s team.
Over Half term, Elodie Vinson, Upper Sixth, challenged herself to shake off ‘lockdown’ and walk a marathon in a day. Elodie explains the challenges and her achievements below.

This week, judges had great pleasure in crowning Poppy Hobson ‘Star Baker’ in the hotly contested RGS Worcester event, The Great Year Eleven Bake Off.
Earlier in the term, RGS saw the launch of the newest House event – the RGS Virtual Winter Olympics Games! Pupils and staff had great fun taking part in the wide range of Winter Olympic themed challenges, creatively demonstrated by the PE Department.
The House challenges this term have taken on a slightly different approach due to pupils participating from home. However, working remotely has not deterred pupils’ determination to secure valuable points for their Houses.
