We welcomed many prospective new pupils from Years Five and Six from our Pres Schools’ and many other local schools, to the RGS Sports Taster Morning last Saturday, showcasing the broad range of sporting opportunities on offer at RGS Worcester.
The RGS Literary Society, LitSoc, remains a very popular Co-curricular club for our Senior pupils, so much so that Mrs Vincent and Mrs Bond have now introduced Junior LitSoc for Year Nine pupils to enjoy.
This week, Mr Richard Hawking, Teacher of English and Head of Year Eleven, celebrates the publication of his second book, A Countryman’s Winter Notebook.
This year’s National Poetry Day celebrates the theme of choice. At RGS, pupils are incredibly lucky to have so much choice when it comes to their learning, including subject choices through the School. They also have incredible Co-curricular opportunities on offer from which to choose.
RGS Worcester continues its commitment to nurture the next generation of Netball players by becoming the home of the Severn Stars Under 17 Nova Academy.
Three RGS pupils were selected to represent National teams in Hockey. Alice Atkinson was selected for the England Under 18 squad, Amelia Lane was selected for the Wales Under 18 squad and Caitlin Lane was selected for the Wales Under 16 squad.
We were excited to hear that RGS Alumna, Amy Murphy began an Industrial Placement in Inventory Management with the Williams Racing F1 Team this term.
Named after the School’s eminent alumnus, Dr John Billingham, the Billingham Society offers Enrichment learning opportunities for all pupils in Years Seven to Eleven.
With just weeks to go before opening night, the cast of ‘Billy Elliot’ have been working hard, rehearsing 6-7 hours each week honing scripts, polishing dance routines and refining singing performances.
