This week, judges had great pleasure in crowning Poppy Hobson ‘Star Baker’ in the hotly contested RGS Worcester event, The Great Year Eleven Bake Off.

Earlier in the term, RGS saw the launch of the newest House event – the RGS Virtual Winter Olympics Games! Pupils and staff had great fun taking part in the wide range of Winter Olympic themed challenges, creatively demonstrated by the PE Department.

The House challenges this term have taken on a slightly different approach due to pupils participating from home. However, working remotely has not deterred pupils’ determination to secure valuable points for their Houses.

This week RGS pupils from Year Eleven to Upper Sixth had the opportunity to attend a seminar, highlighting the connection between leadership and the power of Sport.

Once again, the RGS Worcester Debating Society has achieved success, winning Nottingham Schools during Half term.

To keep creativity flowing through ‘lockdown’, Miss Freeman has been inviting her Lower School Dance Club members to express themselves through art and movement.

To conclude this Half term, pupils had the exciting opportunity to join an online ‘live’ Question and Answer session with Olympians and Hockey legends, Kate and Helen Richardson-Walsh.

“Who would have thought a year ago that I would be cooking virtually with over forty pupils, every Thursday evening?”, asks Mrs Nicholls, Head of Careers & Enrichment and Modern Foreign Languages Teacher.

On Tuesday evening, over forty screens gathered on Google Meet for the RGS Music Year Ten Online Concert. Fifteen soloists played and sang from their homes, presenting polished and enjoyable performances of music from a wonderful variety of composers and musical styles.

This Half term of Remote Teaching and Learning has seen a range of exciting opportunities in PE and Games provided by the RGS Sports Department, as they have worked hard to motivate RGS pupils to keep fit and active during ‘lockdown’.
