We are delighted to announce that RGS Worcester’s Director of Innovation, John Jones, has been appointed as a Worcestershire Innovation Board Member of the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (WLEP) on a voluntary basis.
“Last Thursday, six members of Year Ten (including myself) took part in the online, regional round of the English Speaking Union Public Speaking competition. We are all familiar with Debating at school, but only three pupils had ever taken part in a public speaking competition before.
Work on the new Worcester International Hockey Centre has continued over the past months and we can see this exciting new venture, a partnership between RGSW and Worcester Hockey Club and supported by Worcester City Council, really taking shape.
Well done to all pupils who took part in our 11+ Entrance Examination Day last Saturday. This year has seen the need for creativity and ingenuity when it comes to everything and the Admissions process has been no different.
This week has been Children’s Mental Health Week, with the theme ‘Express Yourself’, encouraging young people to find creative ways to share thoughts, ideas and feelings and discover activities that benefit their well-being.
We are delighted to congratulate RGS students who have received offers to begin courses at Oxford or Cambridge Universities this September.
This week, RGS was pleased to be able to assist a local primary school by donating 20 iPads to help support pupils with their remote learning.
As well as making it into the Regional Final of the English-Speaking Union’s Schools’ Mace last week, this week RGS Worcester debaters also secured another record, equalling the best tally at the Oxford Schools’ competition Regional Round.
