Aspiring to become a Doctor can often begin at a young age and gaining a place at Medical School is a huge achievement requiring many years of hard work, dedication and resilience. It is wonderful to be able to highlight the success of four students who departed the Upper Sixth this summer and will be beginning their medical degrees either this year or next.
2020 seems to be a year for testing the versatility of our young musicians here at RGS. Following the success of online concerts, Zoom lessons and multiscreen performances during the Trinity term, we are delighted that live music-making has recommenced at RGS, albeit in very different formats.
Open Morning at RGS Worcester is always enjoyed by pupils, staff and prospective families as it allows for visitors to tour the School with pupil guides and experience what life is like here. Whether a child has an interest in Sport, Music, Drama, Textiles, Design Technology, or an academic subject, whatever a child’s interests, the family is warmly welcomed and the Tour bespoke to match their needs.
We have now finished our successful block of summer sports and we have been fortunate with the weather. It has been fantastic to give pupils the opportunity to perform in the sports that they so disappointingly missed out on last term.
Every year, on 26 September, schools across Europe celebrate European Day of Languages. At RGS Worcester, we prefer to celebrate languages all week long. We would not want to miss an occasion to promote the importance and benefits of lifelong language learning for everyone.
Latterly, the brief ‘September’ cricket season has come to a conclusion with a block set of fixtures against King’s School, Worcester last weekend, an Under16 20/20 fixture against Hereford Cathedral School 1st XI.
Former Pupil, Abigail (Abby) Marsh (2011-2019) has recently played her first England Hockey National Premier League game for Swansea. This is the highest standard of club Hockey you can play in this country and she is the first RGS pupil to play at this level.

With A Level Psychology now up and running for the first time at RGS Worcester, students have been busy actively exploring this fascinating expanse of ‘brain and behaviour’.
The start of term has seen RGS pupils across Year Seven to Year Eleven returning to take part in Physical Education (PE) lessons to develop their health and fitness through the activity of Athletics. In particular, pupils have evaluated and developed their running technique as well as participated in a variety of running events over the past three weeks.
