Despite a loss to Bromsgrove School’s experienced side, which included two international players, the RGS Girls’ Tennis team played some fantastic tennis in close fought matches which did not finish until 7.30pm last Wednesday evening.
The 22 April was Earth Day and the Environment Committee decided to mark this occasion by encouraging staff and pupils to wear an item of green clothing. It was wonderful to see an array of green socks, shirts, ties, hair scrunchies and cardigans worn by so many students, who clearly feel passionate about their planet.

RGS pupils have enjoyed a return to sports this term and it has been fantastic to see pupils back on the sports field, participating with enthusiasm. As pupils had a significant time away from sport, RGS ran pre-season training sessions for summer sports over the final weeks of the Lent term and during the Easter holiday, to ease pupils back into playing sport.

We were delighted that five pupils from Year Eleven have secured final interviews for this year’s prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarships. This Scholarship programme is the most prestigious scholarship scheme of its type in the UK with over 6,000 Scholarships awarded to date.

We were pleased to discover that RGS Worcester Art Technician, Mrs Felicity Osborne, has her artwork featured in the ‘Art Edit 2021’ in the April edition of House and Garden magazine.
RGS is participating in the NHS Art Trail, running in Worcester City centre from 1 to 31 May. The Trail is a free outdoor art event and is linked to the ‘Now We’re Talking with Art’ campaign, which aims to combine art, exercise and mental health.
22 April 2021 was Stephen Lawrence Day and, as a School, we wanted to mark this day and ensure that all our pupils were aware of why it is so important that we remember Stephen and what happened to him.
