In the final two weeks of the Michaelmas term, the Sixth Form Charity Committee ran a ‘Festive Bake Off Competition’ for the whole School, in aid of the Myriad Centre in Worcester.

It has been a tough term with regards to Netball, as Covid-19 has stopped many of our usual sporting events from happening. The fixture list has been decimated and the new coaching team have had to run very different practices.

RGS was delighted to welcome (virtually) Fiona Cox, Associate Professor of French and Comparative Literature at the University of Exeter and an old girl of The Alice Ottley School.

Year Seven and Eight pupils have been enjoying Textiles Lunch Club remotely this half term. They collected resource packs from the department with cord, string, wooden beads and rings so that they could continue with their practical activities from their form rooms to allow us to continue to work safely in our ‘bubbles’.

Lower Sixth form pupil Max Collins, challenged himself to run 300 miles in 30 consecutive days, raising money for the mental health charity, YoungMinds. 

Former Alice Ottley pupil, Andrea Collins (1990-97) is leading the work in Liverpool for the Phase 3 Oxford COVID-19 Vaccine Study.

The Governors of RGS Worcester are delighted to announce the appointment of Joanna Monro as Director of Finance and Operations.

The recent lockdown saw the return of the RGS Cooking Club – Kitchen Adventures with Mrs Nicholls. The resounding success of the Club in the first ‘lockdown’ meant that on our first ‘live cook together’ we had upwards of 25 pupils and it felt like we’d never been away.

It is an exciting time for the School’s Rugby club as the prospect of some competitive Rugby in the New Year draws ever closer. The decision was made early on to move our Rugby season to the Lent term in order to give the players the best chance of playing some matches.

Pupils from across the School who are passionate about the planet and the impact of humans on the environment, have been meeting up each week to discuss ways to make RGS Worcester more ‘green’.
