‘Superball’ inspires a generation of Netball players at RGS
Excitement is rising at RGS as the 1st and 2nd VII Netball teams prepare to compete in this year’s Superball.
The two RGS Worcester teams will play against King’s School at The University of Worcester Arena, on Saturday 19 March, the 1st and 2nd VII teams competing for The University of Worcester Trophy. This annual event is very much a sporting highlight of the school calendar, providing an opportunity for both teams to showcase their skills, and we are delighted to have had the encouragement and organisational support from The University of Worcester to enable this to happen again this year at the Arena.
RGS pupil Isabelle, is extremely excited to be playing as part of the 1st VII Team. Isabelle started her Netball journey whilst at RGS The Grange and has continued to play and develop her skills in the Sport during her time at RGS Worcester.

Isabelle explained: “To play in Superball is honestly a dream come true and the excitement I have is an indescribable feeling. Ever since Year 3, when I came to watch my first Superball, I have always dreamt of being able to run out onto the big arena court and play the Sport I love with my friends and my family and supporters cheering me on in the crowd. Being the youngest on the team was daunting at first in the early games of the season, but being surrounded by talented and inspirational players has taught me a lot and I will forever cherish the moments I have spent with the team. This years Superball is going to be a spectacular night and will be definitely up there with the most memorable moments of my life.”
As the ‘Superball’ event had to be cancelled last year due to Covid, please do support this excellent Netball event this year. The doors to the Arena will be open to ticket holders from 4.00pm, which is also when the 2nd VII match will start. This match will then be followed by a coaching clinic for some of our Prep School netballers before the 1st VII match starts at 6.00pm.
Entry is by ticket only. There will be a nominal charge of £5 per ticket prior to the event or £7 per ticket on the evening. To purchase tickets, please email mst@rgsw.org.uk. The Arena has a dedicated car park, accessed via the Arena entrance on Hylton Road where spectators can park for £4, which can be purchased on the night of the game.
