Nursery Key Person and Staff

All children starting RGS The Grange Nursery and Pre-School are allocated a Nursery Key Person that supports the child and works in partnership with parents to enhance the care and education of the child. The Nursery Key Person is the member of staff that the child has the closest bond with and who parents can go to for support.

The Key Person is responsible for the assessment and recording of the child’s learning and development and together with the parents helps build the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile. As the child moves into Reception, the Class Teacher becomes the Key Person and at the end of the year they complete the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile and state whether a Child has made typical age-related development.  This is passed on to the child’s Year One teacher so that they can use it to plan and provide an appropriate curriculum that is reflective of each child’s needs.
